Located in Suqian with 5000 years history, the national civilized city, Suqian University (SQU) is a provincial public full-time university with higher education. From 2002, SQU cooperate in undergraduate education with eight provinscial universities, Suzhou University, Yangzhou University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing Tech University, Jiangsu Normal University, Nanjing University of Finance and economics, Nanjing Institute of Technology, Nanjing Normal University. In 2014, with approval from the national ministry of education, it became an independent undergraduate university. From 2018, SQU has had the right of authorizing bachelor degree with approval from the evaluation of provincial academic level office. Since its establishment, it has been awarded “Civilized institution of Jiangsu Province” for many times. It has won many honorary titles, such as “Advanced Institution of Ideological and political Education of Jiangsu Province”, “Advanced University of Excelling in Competition of Jiangsu Province”, “Model University of Safe Campus of Jiangsu Province”, “Advanced University in Archives of Jiangsu Province”, “Advanced School in Physical Education of Jiangsu Province” etc..

SuqianUniversity has nine schools and one Department of Sports with enrollment of more than 15000 undergraduates, offers 45 majors covering nine disciplines, engineering, literature, science, art, education, management, economics, law and agriculture. There are over 700 full-time teachers.It covers a campus area of 888,000 square meters. The library covers 1.7 million paper-books and 250000 E-books.

It has established cooperation relationship with 18 universities from 8 countries including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France and Thailandetc.. It has actively carried out inter-university cooperation projects, and signed inter-university cooperation agreements with seven overseas universities, including the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom, Bolin University in Thailand, and Southern Institute of Technology in New Zealand, to carry out substantive cooperation in the fields of mutual visits between teachers and students, academic exchanges, and joint talent cultivation.It has vigorously promoted academic research and education programs for key teachers and outstanding students abroad, and sent key teachers and outstanding students to the University of Cambridge, the University of Toronto, the University of Melbourne and other world-renowned universities for study and exchange every year.In recent years, the Consul General of India, South Korea and other countries in Shanghai have visited the university.
