Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Announcing the Filing and Approval Results of Undergraduate Majors in General Institutes of Higher Education in 2021 (GH [2021] No. 14). The two undergraduate majors, physics and bioengineering, declared by our university were all approved as newly registered undergraduate majors.

The triumphant declaration of the two undergraduate majors is a momentous step for Suqian University. It will help to promote further the establishment of “Four New Disciplines,” execution of the “Three Connections and Three Integrations” campaign plus the “Ten Spark Programs.”

The addition of bioengineering and physics (education) majors will help in further enhancement of the university’s ability to boost Suqian’s basic education and deepen our production-education integration with Yanghe Distillery. We will take it as a chance to continue honing the structure of the university’s majors, boost the personnel training programs for these newly added majors, and strengthen conditions for the teaching staff. As a result, we will have further improved our prominent construction level and personnel training abilities. The university offers 43 other undergraduate majors that cover nine disciplines including literature, engineering, science, art, education, economics, management, law and agriculture. They constitute a discipline pattern that features the dominant role of engineering disciplines and coordinate development of varied disciplines.
