September witnesses the start of Autumn. September 23 is autumn equinox in the twenty-four solar terms, and also the fifth "Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival". Suqian University grandly held the first farming culture festival. Xu De, Secretary of the CPC Suqian University Committee, announced the opening of the festival. Pan Zhiming, Principal, delivered the speech. Vice-Principal Ding Hongyan hosted the opening ceremony.

In taking a mouthful of congee or rice and putting on clothes, we should bear in mind that the production is not easy rather than take them for granted. In order to let college students feel the joy of farming life and deeply appreciate farming culture, this farming culture festival focuses on the collision between countryside complex and farming art, and shows the charm of rural poetic and picturesque beauty and the integration of agricultural culture and creativity in a panoramic view. Activities are divided into intangible cultural heritage art creativity, farming tools experience, rural food, farming market, rural clothing show and other themed activities. Among them, the intangible cultural heritage art creativity comprises calligraphy of farming and Chinese style, seal cutting, straw weaving craftsmanship, rattan straw weaving skills, bamboo basket painting competition, painting of whole grains, tea cup cushion making, tea art culture, intangible cultural heritage wheat straw painting and other on-site shows, which are rich and colorful.
